Full Journal pdf2000-04-16 Senate Journal Page 3155 SJR 38 Message dated April 15 was read, stating the House passed SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 38 with the following amendment: Page 2, following line 6: Insert new material to read: WHEREAS Senator Frank Murkowski, United States Senator for Alaska, has introduced S. 2253, Rails to Resources Act of 2000, to establish a joint United States-Canada commission to study the feasibility of connecting the rail system in Alaska to the continental rail system of North America; and and so, SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 38 am H Expressing support for a cooperative United States-Canada feasibility study on extending the North American rail system through British Columbia and the Yukon Territory to Alaska, is returned for consideration. YEAS: 19 NAYS: 0 EXCUSED: 0 ABSENT: 1 Yeas: Adams, Donley, Ellis, Elton, Green, Hoffman, Kelly Pete, Kelly Tim, Leman, Lincoln, Mackie, Miller, Parnell, Pearce, Phillips, Taylor, Torgerson, Ward, Wilken Absent: Halford and so, the Senate concurred in the House amendment, thus adopting SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 38 am H Expressing support for a cooperative United States-Canada feasibility study on extending the North American rail system through British Columbia and the Yukon Territory to Alaska. The Secretary was requested to notify the House. The resolution was referred to the Secretary for enrollment.
